Writer’s Dream

Reading the lines of Giovanni,
studying the stanzas of Sanchez,
and digesting the meaning of Jessica Care Moore’s words.
Visualizing myself on stage,
surrounded by people who share my love of poetry,
who feel my need to write,
those who love poetry as much as I.
The applause from the audience,
the snapping of fingers,
all listening and loving my poetry…
Can you picture it?

Lazily arising from a perfect sleep,
sipping on a cup of tea,
spending hours
putting words on paper,
releasing my thoughts.
Gaining happiness by writing poetry…
Can you dig it?

I wanna spit words
like fire, stir up lost emotions,
make lovers hold on tighter,
and friends embrace.
I wanna fly from New York to
Chicago and back home in one day.
Book Signing at The Shrine at 12,
live reading at 6. I wanna be a poet
whose words will be loved and never missed.

It would be my dream to be a poet, this is
my dream, a writer’s dream.
One day, these words will be reality
and no more dreams
or fantasies of a young visionary.

Can you see it?

I can.
So look for me
