Fellowships and Grants

Spelman College Students Only

• The Patria Prize. Up to $200 is available. (The application will be made available upon acceptance to the program.)

• The James Gates Memorial Summer Study Abroad Scholarship. (Please contact Dr. Margery Ganz, Director of Study Abroad and International Exchange, Spelman College - tel: 404-270-5495, email:  mganz@spelman.edu)

• PELL Grant. (Please contact Lenora Jackson, Director of Financial Aid, Spelman College - tel: 404-270-5209, email:  lenoraj@spelman.edu)

Non-Spelman Students
Please contact your Study Abroad Office, Dean or Department Chair for assistance.

Emerging Artists
Please contact your local City, County or State Arts Council for assistance. An Internet search for foundations that fund artist residencies might also prove useful.

Payment Schedule
The Program Fee can be paid in full or thorough a monthly payment plan once the application is accepted. The final payment is due no later than 1 April 2011.

NOTE: Failure to stay current on the Program Payment Plan may result in the application becoming inactive. Checks should be made payable to Spelman College and submitted to:

Travel Documents

Students and artists selected for the Spelman College Summer Art Colony must have a valid passport. Additionally, a Panamanian visa or tourist card is also required to enter the Republic of Panama. We recommend securing a tourist card for $5.00 at the airport.
