The Office of Annual Giving
The Office of Annual Giving has officially closed the books on another fiscal year. We appreciate the role that you have played in making this year one of achievement and success. Your gifts have already made a significant impact and will make a difference for current and future Spelman women.
We wanted to share some of the most important accomplishments of the year:
- Total Alumnae Participation: 6,529 or 41%
- 2011 Senior Class Gift: Raised $4,307 and 52% class participation
- Founder’s Day Challenge: 6,000 alumnae gifts secured a $250,000 anonymous gift
- Reunioning Classes raised $1.6 million in gifts and pledges
As we prepare to begin a new year, we welcome our alumnae and friends to get involved with Spelman College by volunteering to work a campus event, making a gift, or getting involved with your local alumnae chapter. Whether you are able to share your time, treasure, or talent, your participation will make a difference.

The Office of Annual Giving builds the foundation for fundraising at Spelman College. Financial support from alumnae, faculty, staff, parents, and students, are led through the Office of Annual Giving.

The Annual Fund (Unrestricted Fund) is a vital source of revenue for Spelman College. Gifts to the Annual Fund advance the mission of Spelman College and provides a solid foundation for every aspect of the Spelman experience: scholarships, academic programs, campus programs, and student-faculty research opportunities. A contribution in any amount is an investment in Spelman College and women we educate who make the choice to change the world.
