Cristen Mills Uses Heart of Cool to Spur a Cultural Movement

Spelman Alumna Cristen Mills Creative visionary and social entrepreneur Cristen M. Mills, C'2005, is an experienced and ambitious businesswoman with a background in advertising, branding and entertainment. At Spelman, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history, studied abroad and attended the London School of Economics and Political Science as well as the University of Southern California, Annenberg School For Communication where she earned a double Master of Arts degree in global media and global communications.

Mills first entered the entertainment industry as an aspiring agent for Robert Gibbs and Dennis Ashley in the music department at ICM Partners, one of the world's largest talent and literary agencies with offices in New York, Los Angeles, and London. Shortly thereafter, she became the personal liaison to Grammy, Golden Globe and Oscar Award-winning artist, COMMON.

Spelman Alumna Cristen MillsA serial entrepreneur, Mills went on to open her own restaurant, My Two Cents, with celebrity chef Alisa Reynolds in Los Angeles; and Wardrobe, a skateboard accessory design company. Currently, Mills is the creative visionary and co-founder of Heart of Cool, an art, fashion and lifestyle brand that inspires consumers to be more authentic and challenges brands to be more innovative in the Art of Life. 

She and her business partner,Tasha Boué, align people and brands with original thinkers, creative visionaries, and cultural movements to ignite awareness, authentic consumer self-expression and brand revolutions across the globe. 

Because of Mills' passion to help others and drive innovation, her parents established the Rick and Anna Mills Scholarship for Global and Authentic Leadership at Spelman.
