Alumnae Profiles: Eu-wanda Eagans, C'94
Alumna Eu-wanda Jenkins Eagans is the Chief Operating Officer at Northwest Harvest, the only non-profit food bank distributor operating statewide in Washington, providing 1.9 million meals each month to a network of more than 360 food banks, meal programs and high-need schools.
Eagans received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Spelman, and as a member of the dual degree program, went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. She also holds a master's of business administration from Columbia University.
She has an extensive background in operations and program management through years of experience in manufacturing and engineering. She worked as an industrial engineer with multiple supervisory positions at both Energizer Battery Co. and General Motors Corporation; and was assistant commissioner, of the Employment Security Department for the state of Washington before assuming her new role at Northwest Harvest.
An avid volunteer, Eagans says, “I have a strong desire to make a positive impact on hunger in this state, and the opportunity to work for Northwest Harvest has been a dream come true for me. The opportunity to directly help people in their hour of need (and to be able to use my operational skills to do it) has been a goal of mine for a long time."
