Admissions: Financial Aid

Kinds of Aid

Need-Based Aid

Once the Office of Student Financial Aid has received the information listed on your FAFSA, we will calculate your financial need and use it as a guideline in determining the types of aid that you will receive. Your financial need is based on the amount of money that we feel your family is able to contribute in relation to the cost of a Spelman education.

Loans

There are many types of student loans to choose from, and it's important to find one that is right for your particular situation. The two main types of loans are federal loans and private loans.
