Important Items to Remember
REGISTRATION DEADLINE
If you decide that you would like to attend the program, please submit registration form and send or fax signed Parental Permission Statement by Friday, April 9, 2012.
For your convenience, you may also register online at www.spelman.edu. Spelman hostesses are assigned on a “first-come, first-served basis”.
LODGING AND MEALS
On-campus housing and meals are available for registered students and will be arranged as part of the program. We are happy to assist parents and guardians with finding off-campus accommodations. Guest meals are available in the Spelman College Alma Upshaw Dining Hall at $6.00 per person, per meal. You may purchase meal tickets at during Spel-Bound registration.
TRANSPORTATION
Spelman will not be able to provide transportation from the airport, bus, or train stations. A taxi for one person from the airport will cost approximately $25.00. A taxi from the West End MARTA station to campus will cost about $5.
PARKING
Parking is available on campus Sunday in the Spelman parking deck at $3.00 per day. We are undergoing extensive construction on our campus. On Monday, I strongly suggest that you allow additional time to access campus, and that you consider the likelihood that the Spelman Parking Deck will be full and open only to individuals enrolled in one of the College prepaid parking programs when classes are in session. By arrangement with the Morehouse School of Medicine of Public Safety department have arranged for Spelman students and visitors to have access on a first come first serve, space available basis to the MSM parking deck at the regular rate of $4.00.
WHAT TO BRING
You will need a sleeping bag, pillow, shower shoes, bath towels, casual clothes, and other personal items, money for transportation to and from campus, and your medical insurance card.
* Bring an extra blanket for outdoor use.
