Educational Media

Audio Visual Equipment

A variety of AV equipment is available:

  • video projection system (for trained persons only)
  • projectors (16mm, overhead, opaque, and filmstrip)
  • still cameras (35mm and Polaroid)
  • video recording systems-VHS (Training required)
  • audio-cassette recorder/players
  • videodisc player (media center use only)
  • videocassette recorder/players (COMBOS)
  • high speed audio cassette duplicator (media center use)
  • Many classrooms and facilities on campus have audio visual equipment available on site. Check with the media center staff for these locations.

 

Satellite Television Reception Only

Programs transmitted via domestic and selected international satellites may be viewed at several campus sites or recorded for subsequent classroom playback. The Media Center can receive these programs. Participation in national teleconferences is also possible. Charges may apply.

 

Purchase and Rental of Media Materials

Educational Media Services staff will assist users in locating and obtaining films, videotapes, and other instructional materials from off-campus sources for classroom use. Charges are the responsibility of the requestor.

 

Charges

Users may be charged for commercial production, commercial rentals and after hours staff services which include nights, weekends and holidays. Fee schedules are available from the Educational Media Center for staff and reimbursable costs.

Some other common Media Center charges include:

  • Reproducing a tape from a filmed production
  • Reproducing a tape from archived materials
  • Editing a video filmed by the Media Center
  • Copying educational video material for classroom use
