Educational Media
Guidelines for Requesting Media Services
- Always plan as far ahead as possible.
- Requests for specialized equipment
operators must be made in writing, and
must be made at least two weeks in advance.
Subject to availability of staff.
- Requests for photographic services
must allow four to ten working days to
allow adequate turn-around time to complete
the work.
- Equipment should be picked up with
enough advance time for the user to properly
set up and load prior to use.
- Students are not allowed to check
out or pick up equipment. Spelman staff
and faculty are responsible for any student
use of equipment and media services.
Equipment Delivery and Return
The Media Center does not have available
staff to offer equipment delivery and retrieval.
You may pick up equipment in person during
regular business hours.
- The Physical Plant Office may pick
up and deliver and return equipment and
materials upon request. This is strictly
a courtesy. Arrangements will be made
with Physical Plant by your indication
on the Equipment Request Form the need
for delivery by Physical Plant. All requests
for delivery must be made by 2:00 p.m.
for the next day's delivery.
- The user is asked to schedule with
Physical Plant the prompt return of equipment
within the hour after its use. Evening
and weekend users are required to secure
the equipment after its use. Prompt return
is required by 9:30 a.m. of the following
business day.
- All equipment is loaned on a first-come,
first-served basis. Advance reservations
are recommended.
- The media center cannot accommodate
classes for viewing assignments. Please
schedule a video equipped room in a classroom
building for class activities.
- Requests from users who fail to comply
with the policies as set forth in this
brochure are subject to referral to the
Provost for future requests.
Note: Persons signing for equipment assume
total responsibility for the proper operation
and safe return of all items to the media
center.
