If I lose my key, how do I get another one?

Faculty and staff, if you lose your key, you must come to the physical plant office and a key will be made for you.
Students, if you lose your key you must go to student accounts and pay for a new key. Take your receipt to the physical plant office and a key will be made for you.

If my room is too hot or too cold, whom do I contact?

Faculty and staff, if your office is too hot or too cold, notify the physical plant office at extension 5440 and they will have the HVAC technician make the necessary adjustments.
Students, if your room is to hot or too cold, notify your resident director or a resident assistant. They will notify the physical plant personnel about your room temperature.

If a toilet or sink is stopped up and overflowing, what do I do?

If the water is still running and it is before 4:00 p.m., call the physical plant office at extension 5440. If the water is still running and it is after 4:00 p.m., call the emergency phone number, 770-433-6050.

If I have an electrical problem either with my lights or my outlets, what should I do?

Faculty and staff, if your lights are out or your outlets are nonfunctional, notify the physical plant office at extension 5440.
Students, if your lights are out or your outlets are nonfunctional, notify the resident director or the resident assistant. They will notify the physical plant personnel about your lights.

If I have a pest control problem, whom do I call?

Faculty and staff, if you have a pest control problem, notify the physical plant office at extension 5440.
Students, if you have a pest control problem in your room, notify your resident director or a resident assistant. They will notify the physical plant personnel.

If I have a problem with my office/dorm cleanliness, whom do I contact?

If there is a problem with your office's cleanliness or any situation concerning the cleaning crew, contact the physical plant office at extension 5440.
If there is a problem with your dorm's cleanliness or any situation concerning the cleaning crew, have the resident director or a resident assistant contact the physical plant office at extension 5440.

If I have a problem with the restroom cleanliness, whom do I contact?

Faculty and staff, if there is a problem with restroom cleanliness or any situation concerning the cleaning crew, notify the physical plant office at extension 5440.
Students, if there is a problem with restroom cleanliness or any situation concerning the cleaning crew, notify the resident director or a resident assistant. They will notify the physical plant personnel.

If my doorknob or door lock is malfunctioning, how do I get it fixed?

Faculty and staff, if your doorknob or door lock is malfunctioning, notify the physical plant office at extension 5440.

If the elevator is malfunctioning, how do I get it fixed?

Faculty and staff, if the elevator in an office or classroom building is malfunctioning, call physical plant at extension 5440.
Students, if elevator in the dormitory is malfunctioning, notify the resident director or a resident assistant. They will notify the physical plant personnel. If the elevator in an office or classroom building is malfunctioning have the instructor call physical plant at extension 5440.

I thought maintenance men could only go into dorms after 9:00 am?

If the work in a dormitory seriously affects the habitability of that dormitory, if it is geared toward the least inconvenient schedule possible, and if a schedule has been made known to the dorm's resident director, maintenance men will be seen in the building before 9:00 am. Also, if the maintenance men are responding to an emergency situation in any dormitory, they will not wait until 9:00 am. before entering the dorm with the resident director's approval.

What if I cannot find any Resident Directors (RD) or any Resident Assistants (RA) to assist me with my problem, whom can I call?

If you cannot contact any RD's or RA's, call public safety at 404-525-6401 and they will contact physical plant.

How can I track or find out the status of a work order that has been called in to the physical plant office?

If you wish to track a work order or find out it's status, call the physical plant office at extension 5440. And they will give you a report on the status of the work order. Note: you must tell them the problem that caused the work order to be written, the date it was called in, the person who called it in, and the building name.
