Boston University

The Early Medical School Selection Program (EMSSP) is a partnership between BUSM and fourteen undergraduate colleges that emphasize early admissions and curriculum coordination. This partnership includes BUSM, Boston University Undergraduate College, and ten historically black institutions: Clark/Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Spelman College, Hampton University, The University of the Virgin Islands, North Caroline Central University, Morgan State University, Dillard University, Tougaloo College, ad Virginia Union University.

University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health

The Rural and Urban Scholars in Community Health (RUSCH) program, a collaborative effort of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, University of Wisconsin-Plattevile, University of Wisconsin-Parkside and Spelman College, affords selected students the opportunity to:

  • Increase exposure to and expand knowledge of careers in medicine
  • Work side by side with current University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health physicians, faculty, and medical students
  • Participate in community health improvement projects and medical research
  • Participate n experiences that will develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes to strengthen application to medical school.

University of South Alabama College of Medicine

The University of South Alabama College of Medicine is expanding network designed o provide all facets of medical education, research, and patient care. the college strives to create and environment conducive to learning and research in all fields of human biology and health care permitting both students and faculty to maximize their potential. Scholarly endeavor, intellectual curiosity, and the extension of new knowledge by faculty and students are essential components of such and environment. Member, Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The graduate studies program is a unit of the Graduate School of the University of South Alabama. Academic and professional standards are comparable to those of other leading medical schools in the United States.

University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine

As Connecticut’s only public school of dentistry, the School of Dental Medicine commits to providing predoctoral educational opportunities for qualified Connecticut residents who desire to become broadly competent general practitioners of dental medicine capable of meeting the oral health care needs of all the State’s citizens. The School of Dental Medicine also offers postdoctoral training in all accredited dental education programs and attracts applicants who seek to combine clinical training with doctoral level studies in the basic biomedical and behavioral sciences, in preparation for careers in academic dentistry.

The School of Nursing is dedicated to preparing highly educated nurses to expertly meet the growing needs of patients and families in an increasingly complex and diverse health care environment. A pioneer at unifying education, practice and research, the school is focused on developing exceptional, team-oriented health care providers, researchers, educators, clinical leaders and innovators, who continually strive to improve health care provision. Its robust academic and research programs are strategically aligned to support national health care reform and the need for improved access, chronic disease management, care coordination, and community collaborations. The school places a strong emphasis on providing student support, which is reflected in excellent graduation and retention rates (above 80% across all programs) and NCLEX pass rates well above 90% for many years.

Emory University

Students come to Emory for many different reasons resulting in a diverse student population all exploring different professional and leadership careers. The school has both first degree and second degree students studying with our nationally recognized nursing faculty. Students tell us that they are attracted to the values of our school including scholarship, leadership, and social responsibility. The majority of our undergraduate students take advantage of the many service learning opportunities afforded by our Lillian Carter Center for Global Health & Social Responsibility. The Lillian Carter Center is dedicated to serving vulnerable populations, and is at the nexus of education, policy, practice, and research. The Lillian Carter Center provides the synergy for our service learning educational and research projects.

Exercise Science

Auburn University

The Exercise Science program prepares students for professional programs such as medicine, physical therapy, and occupational therapy and for graduate study in exercise science sub-disciplines of Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, and Motor Behavior. Course work emphasizes physiological, biomechanical, and psychological aspects of human function in response to exercise and physical activity.
