MIE Research Internship
The MIE
Research
Internship
introduces
sophomores and juniors to the exciting world of science,
engineering
and mathematics research. Interns work with Spelman faculty,
individually
or in
teams, on selected projects during the
academic
year. Sophomores receive $2,500 and juniors
receive
$3,000
in scholarship funds for the
academic year.
In some
cases, students receive travel expenses to present their
research
at professional meetings.

to present research

in the Spelman SEM Day symposium

research and internship opportunities
Eligibility
To
apply to the MIE Research Intern
Program, students must meet
the following eligibility criteria:
- Academic
major in biology, biochemistry,
chemistry, computer science,
environmental science, mathematics,
physics, or engineering
- Sophomore
or junior status
- U.S.
Citizenship
- Cumulative
GPA of 2.5 or higher
Applications
Students
must complete a Scholarship Application
Form and follow the instructions
to apply for the MIE Research
Intern Program.
