MBRS-RISE Summer Research Development Program

Over the summer, Research Scholars are paid while engaging in full-time biomedical research. Independent project can be conducted at Spelman or other institutions (can be out of state). The 8-week program culminates in a research presentation at the MBRS-RISE Summer Research Symposium.


Spelman students who are rising sophomores, juniors or seniors majoring in biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, or psychology who have previous research experience and intentions of obtaining a Ph.D. in one of the sciences leading to a career in biomedical research.

Housing: Available, RISE does not pay for housing
Travel: Up to $300 for travel to and from the program
