The MBRS-RISE (Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement) program supports student research activities at the sophomore, junior, and senior academic levels. Students receive financial benefits, as well as professional experience and training that will assist them in entering and succeeding in graduate school.

Academic Development Program

  • Laboratory Research 10 hours/week per semester
  • Funding for a scientific conference
  • Salary: $2000/ semester
  • CSI Course 3hrs. per week

Conference Attendance

All RISE participants receive full funding to attend a scientific conference, annually. RISE will pay for airfare (roundtrip), accommodations (sharing, if possible will be required), conference registration, per diem (generally a flat rate $ 35/ day for food when it is not provided at conference) and other travel related to attending the conference.

Professional Development

Summer Development Program

  • 40 hours/ week for 8 weeks
  • Salary: $4800

Summer Training Program

  • 40 hours/ week for 6 weeks
  • Salary: $3600
