Most microbial eukaryotic organisms are defined as asexual, but new findings suggest that this view may not be true for all microbial organisms. This study explored the divergence of a highly conserved protein coding gene, Actin, as a result of recombination as a possible molecular signature for sexual reproduction.

Due to limited numbers of molecular data and incomplete taxon
sampling, understanding the evolutionary relationships of amoeboid
lineages has been a never-ending obstacle. Among the most
commonly used markers in molecular phylogenetics of eukaryotes, in
general, and amoebozoans in particular are SSU-rDNA (SSU) and
actin.Here I provide a detailed analysis of the informativeness and resolution power of SSU and Actin in resolving the amoebozoan tree of life.

The ultimate goal of this research is to create a tutorial in the form of a website that will assist biology students in learning Unix commands.

Regression is an inherently statistical technique used regularly in data mining. Regression can translate a company’s growth patterns and can predict conclusions about a company’s successes based on the products they choose to sell. In this project, regression was used to build models that predicted the retail price of laptops sold in London electronic stores. The model was built using the XLMiner data mining software and a database that contained 7,956 records. After the research was concluded, it was found that multiple linear regression was more efficient than simple linear regression in predicting the retail price of a laptop.
