About the Howard Hughes Program
The Howard Hughes Program at Spelman College seeks to enhance the preparation of Spelman students pursuing professional careers in the sciences by providing an excellent academic foundation in the biological sciences coupled with valuable research training opportunities.
The Spelman Program is supported by a grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) in Bethesda, Maryland. Since 1992, the biology department at Spelman has provided an outstanding educational environment for students interested in pursuing their interests in the biomedical sciences through these programs:
