Sociology/Anthropology Thesis
In the senior year, all Department majors complete a thesis
involving original research that is designed by each student
on a topic of her choice. Some of the most laudable research
projects have been original studies of the following: interracial
adoption and its effects on children; an analysis of data
from the Georgia Department of Corrections on sentencing
patterns and racial bias; a case study of the Rape Crisis
Center at Grady Memorial Hospital; a comparative analysis
of black women's social thought in the United States and
the Caribbean; and an analysis of women's images in twenty
years of advertisements appearing in Ebony magazine.
