Online Course Evaluations

Fall 2017: Nov. 3 – Nov. 26, 2017 | Spring 2018: April 6 – April 29, 2018

For Students

All of your courses for fall semester will be evaluated using the online system. You will be able to access the evaluations for ALL of your classes from any computer, tablet or mobile device.

This system allows you to anonymously evaluate your experience in all of your courses. You will receive several email reminders throughout the process. We look forward to your participation, and value your feedback.

For Faculty

  1. Promote the online course.
  2. Give the students examples of how you will use the feedback to make improvements.  For example: "Last semester’s evaluations indicated that I should make better use of the course website.  This year, I have been posting notes online and started a blog for homework."
  3. Remind the students when the evaluation period has begun and when it closes.
  4. Advise the students that they will receive emails, which will direct them to complete the surveys.
  5. Emphasize the fact that their responses are completely anonymous, and that instructors will not have access to the results until after grades are released.
  6. Designate 15 minutes of class time to speak to the students about the evaluation process and give them time to complete the online evaluation in class (optional).  Reassure students that the process is anonymous, and leave the classroom to ensure privacy.
  7. The response rate for both Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 marked the highest response rate for Spelman College. ALL Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 course evaluations will be completed online. Thank you for your assistance and continued support.

Please help us by encouraging your students to complete their course evaluations. Student assessment of your classroom experience is essential to the continued development and maintenance of an excellent and relevant educational experience at Spelman College.
