Spelman College is ALIVE in the summer with creative opportunities for female high school students to achieve academic excellence and develop leadership skills. For more than 125 years Spelman College has provided women with a stimulating and secure learning environment to become leaders in their fields of interest.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must:
- Be female high school students
- Be juniors or seniors in high school
- Have completed at least three (3) years of English and mathematics through intermediate algebra
- Have a minimum 2.5 (C+) GPA in academic courses
- Complete and mail the application , which will be available online

- Submit an official high school transcript
- Submit a teacher’s recommendation

The Curriculum Includes:
- Pre-College Writing (no credit )
- English Composition (Freshman English): four semester hours (credit)
- Pre-calculus I or II (Freshman mathematics): four semester hours (credit)
Academic Credit: Credits earned may be used to fulfill degree requirements at Spelman. Upon request, the College will issue transcripts to high schools, colleges and universities for possible transfer credit.
Preparing for College Life: Exploration of academic, social and individual issues through weekly seminars facilitated by a professional counselor.
Leadership Seminar: Highlighting special challenges and opportunities for women leaders, team building, and communication skills.
Note: Students wishing to enter Spelman during the regular school year must satisfy admission requirements for regular full-time students. Applications are available from the Office of Admission and Orientation Services.
