Sustainable Spelman Ambassadors

JulissaHunteJulissa Hunte, C’2016
Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Julissa Hunte is a senior environmental science major on a pre-law track. As the president/founder of the Spelman chapter of the Pretty Brown Girl Mentoring Cub, she works closely with the community and sees first hand the need for environmental outreach and service. Julissa is passionate about environmental education and justice and she plans to pursue an environmental law degree upon graduating from Spelman.

Sydney HubbertSydney Hubbert, C’2017
Born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, junior Sydney Hubbert is an aspiring environmental consultant motivated to foster community livability and create sustainability solutions for communities with high-populations of minorities, such as the Atlanta University Center community. She is particularly passionate about issues surrounding environmental justice, green jobs, gentrification and divesting from fossil fuels.

Jahcie RayJahcie Ray, C'2017
Jahcie Ray is a junior international studies and Spanish double major from Denver, Colorado. Growing up, she spent a great deal of her time in the mountains and developed a passion for the environment. Ray's varied and numerous experiences are the inspiration behind her frequent involvement and support of local community gardens, recycling initiatives, tree planting and other sustainable projects.  

Sarina ShaneSarina Shane, C'2018
Sarina Shane is a sophomore environmental science major and studio art minor from the Chicago's South Side. Her interest in sustainability began in high school when she volunteered at city's Green Festival, an annual event designed to celebrate environmental sustainability and raise the eco-consciousness of the community. Shane's work with a mobile farmer's market led to her fascination of consumer and producer relationships. Today, she is interested in demonstrating how members of society can incorporate more green practices into their daily lives.

Eniola Sodeke is a sophomore  honors student majoring international studies and business management. She is passionate about the environment and excited about discussing and developing remedies that will help people take better care of the environment and ultimately their health and communities.

M Honorine KwizeraHonorine Kwizera, C'2017
Honorine Kwizera is a junior mathematics major from Kigali, Rwanda. She is passionate about problem solving and has a great interest in optimization. As a Sustainable Spelman Ambassador, Honorine hopes to apply her optimization and problem solving skills to help select efficient solutions and make environmentally-friendly decisions for a better and sustainable Spelman College.
