Spelman College has been recognized among the top 100 national liberal arts colleges, and for the tenth straight year, is the No. 1 historically Black college and university in the country, according to the 2017 U.S. News & World Report "Best Colleges" rankings. Spelman also tops the list as the No. 1 producer among small schools that provide alumnae/i for Teach For America, and is listed among the top 20 "Best Women's Colleges" by BestColleges.com. Also, the College is among the greenest schools in the nation, according to Sierra magazine. Spelman was one of three schools in Georgia to top the list for its sustainability efforts.
