Dr. Romie Tribble is chair and professor of the economics department at Spelman College. A well-respected member of the Spelman community since 1984, he served as associate provost of liberal arts and education from 1997-2002, and was recently appointed chair of the College’s faculty council.
The first African American to earn a doctorate in economics from Colorado State University, Tribble’s ongoing research interests are in international economics, economic development, and the economics of globalization.
