ATLANTA (Oct. 31, 2012) -- Artist Chakaia Booker delves into a host of topics, including Black identity and urban ecology, during a dialogue with Andrea Barnwell Brownlee, Ph.D., director of the Spelman College Museum of Fine Art, on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m.

ATLANTA (Oct. 15, 2012) --Three key demographics --young, African-American, and women voters will “lock-in” at Spelman College to watch the culmination of the 2012 presidential election on Nov. 6. Appearances will be made by who’s who in entertainment, local and state government and other special guests.

ATLANTA (Oct. 12, 2012) -- Black Girls CODE heads to Spelman College Saturday, Oct. 13, to present its one-day workshop “Build A Webpage” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Black Girls CODE introduces young girls to computer programming, robotics, electrical engineering and other areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in inner cities across the nation.

ATLANTA (Sept. 28, 2012) -- In recognition of October as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Spelman College Department of Drama and Dance, the Office of Research Resources, the Women’s Research and Resource Center and the Office of Student Activities have partnered to present “Fighting for the Title,” a one-woman musical by gospel artist Delores Burgess, Oct. 4-7, 2012, in the Baldwin Burroughs Theater. The event is free and open to the public.
