  • Spelman Praise Fest Celebration Set for Nov. 9

    ATLANTA (Nov. 7, 2012) -- Spelman College Sisters Chapel Arts Ministries, a leadership development program emphasizing unique expressions of faith, culture and art, will host Praise Fest 2012, Friday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. Praise Fest will bring together students from the Atlanta University Center to minister through spoken word, dance (mime, liturgical and African) and music during an evening of dynamic praise and worship.

  • Acclaimed Organist Launches Spelman College Annual Recital Series

    ATLANTA (Nov. 6, 2012) -- Distinguished organist Nathaniel Gumbs will launch the 2012-2013 Spelman College Harreld-James Organ Recital Series, Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Sisters Chapel. The recital, free and open to the public, is presented by the Spelman College Office of the President and the department of music.

  • Black Girls CODE Hosts Computer Programming Workshop for Young Girls at Spelman College

    ATLANTA (Oct. 12, 2012) -- Black Girls CODE heads to Spelman College Saturday, Oct. 13, to present its one-day workshop “Build A Webpage” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Black Girls CODE introduces young girls to computer programming, robotics, electrical engineering and other areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in inner cities across the nation.

  • One-Woman Play 'Fighting for the Title' at Spelman College for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

    ATLANTA (Sept. 28, 2012) -- In recognition of October as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Spelman College Department of Drama and Dance, the Office of Research Resources, the Women’s Research and Resource Center and the Office of Student Activities have partnered to present “Fighting for the Title,” a one-woman musical by gospel artist Delores Burgess, Oct. 4-7, 2012, in the Baldwin Burroughs Theater.
