ATLANTA (April 3, 2012) -- On April 14, students, faculty, and staff will unite with the West End Community to help combat childhood obesity during the K!DZ Walk around Spelman College.

ATLANTA (March 22, 2012) - The 12th Annual Toni Cade Bambara Scholar-Activism Conference, "Warrior Women Arise!," will examine the global efforts and impact of women in social activism, with sessions delving into the Arab Spring, the Palestine Revolution and the equal rights struggles of women of the Congo. The March 23-24 conference, sponsored by the Spelman College Women's Research and Resource Center, will also explore issues related to sexuality and the Black female body and the role of women of color in contemporary political movements.

ATLANTA (March 14, 2012) – Spelman College has been named a finalist in the Second Nature 2012 Climate Leadership Awards, a national competition among colleges and universities to earn the title of “Most Innovative Climate Leader.” View and vote for the video highlighting the Sustainable Spelman initiative.

ATLANTA (March 12, 2012) -- Ralph de la Vega, president and CEO of AT&T Mobility and author of “Obstacles Welcome: Turn Adversity into Advantage in Business and in Life,” will discuss lessons learned on his journey from Cuba to corporate America in a candid conversation with Spelman College President Beverly Daniel Tatum, Ph.D. Free and open to the public, the event will take place March 16, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Living and Learning Center II Auditorium.
