Spelman Arts & Entertainment Summit

Spelman College Arts & Entertainment Summit

Thursday, Oct. 19 - Friday, Oct. 20, 2017

The Spelman College Arts and Entertainment Summit is designed to inform students of the various non-performing opportunities in film, television, music and more.

The panel on Thursday, "Dream It. Create It. Film It.," will cover all aspects of acquiring content, producing, programming, contracting and casting talent, financing and marketing the program/film. Also, be prepared to hear from two legends in the film and television industry: TV and film producer Reuben Cannon (The Color Purple and Tyler Perry films) and co-executive producer and director Oz Scott (Fox/ CW TV Series "Black Lightening"). Learn how they got started in the business and how they are still in high demand after over three decades in the industry.

At "SPELTalks" on Friday, students will engage with alumnae and other entertainment professionals who are eager to provide valuable advice for future careers. Students will have the opportunity to learn about internships and job opportunities with Spotify, HBO, TVOne, Facebook, Warner Bros Music and other entertainment companies.

Students secure your seat at the panel session "Dream it. Create it. Film it." and SPELTalks. The deadline to register is Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 3 p.m.
