An Evening With Radio/Television Personality, Egypt Sherrod

The Atlanta University Center Junior Class Council has constructed an intimate discussion with Egypt Sherrod, to further explain how she was able to successfully build leadership skills in many arenas after effectively transitioning from undergraduate/ or graduate school to the workforce.

How will you benefit from this program?

  • Better understand the requirements, pathways and benefits of journalism and communications.
  • Identify sources and opportunities to build leadership skills and networking connections that will contribute to personal and professional development after graduating from Spelman College, Morehouse College and Clark Atlanta University.
  • Learn from the guest speaker’s professional-successes and challenges- that will inspire one to construct personal development goals that will enhance ones ability to become a more qualified candidate when pursuing a career in communications.

English Department Hosts Annual Mothering Our Daughters Conference

WHEN: Saturday, April 25, 2015, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
WHERE: The Camille Olivia Hanks Cosby, Ed.D. Academic Center

The Spelman College English Department will host the 12th Annual Mothering Our Daughter conference on Saturday, April 25, at 9:30 a.m.Sponsored in collaboration with Aechelon Education Services Inc., this student-led conference is themed, "Me, Myselfie and I" and brings together mothers, mentors and girls ages 7 to 17 to discuss the influence of the media on growth and self-esteem. Registration ends Friday, April 17. The conference, which costs $10 for adults and $5 per girl, will be held in the Camille Olivia Hanks Cosby, Ed.D., Academic Center Auditorium.
