Inside Spelman

Inside Spelman is a monthly electronic newsletter created by the Office of Communications to inform the College’s constituencies about news, upcoming events, and issues in the life of the institution. Established in 1993 as a printed publication, Inside Spelman became digital in October 2009. 


The Spelman Messenger

The Spelman Messenger, established in 1885, serves as the alumnae magazine of Spelman College, and is dedicated to participating in the ongoing education of its readers through thought-provoking articles designed to promote lifelong learning. It is the official magazine of Spelman College and is committed to educating, serving, and empowering African-American women.

Spelman Connection

The Spelman Connection is a weekly e-newsletter featuring stories about students, faculty and staff of the College. Join the community of more than 16,000 readers who receive the Spelman Connection. Sign up by emailing your address to spelmanconnection@spelman.edu.

Spelman Connection Submission Guidelines:  If you have a story idea for consideration, please contact the editor, Alicia Lurry at 404-270-5893 or e-mail spelmanconnection@spelman.edu.

Feature Items:  Feature story items should be one paragraph in length (approximately 3-4 sentences). If a Web site exists that contains in-depth information pertaining to the story, please provide the Web address. Keep in mind the newsletter is targeted for the entire campus community; therefore, all stories should appeal to a wide audience.

Graphics: Prints may be forwarded with articles to the Editor. Electronic images may be forwarded in jpg format with a minimum 72 dpi resolution. Graphics should be 64 pixels in length and 63 pixels wide.
