SPELMAN COLLEGE AND U.S. DOT PROVIDE TRAINING FOR ENTREPRENEURS
ATLANTA (JAN. 15, 2010)
WHAT:
Spelman College has partnered with the U.S. Department of Transportation to develop an intensive training program to help current and aspiring entrepreneurs understand the elements needed to navigate the government procurement process.

• Small Business Certification
• Bonding/Financial Assistance
• Procurement

WHY:
On March 11, 2009, President Obama signed Executive Order 13506 establishing the White House Council for Women and Girls to create a coordinated federal response to the challenges confronted by women and girls. In support of this initiative, Spelman College and the U.S. DOT Office of Small Disadvantaged Business Utilization have partnered to increase the involvement of women and girls in the transportation industry.
