U.S. TRANSPORTATION SECRETARY RAY LAHOOD UNVEILS PILOT PROGRAM TO INCREASE WOMEN'S PARTICIPATION IN THE TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY

On Monday, Sept. 21, U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood will announce a new partnership with Spelman College that will support President Obama’s March 11 Executive Order establishing a White House Council on Women and Girls, which provides a coordinated federal response to the challenges confronted by women and girls. Secretary LaHood will be joined by U.S. Representative John Lewis and Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin.

Secretary LaHood, Representative Lewis and Mayor Franklin will provide details and discuss opportunities provided under the new partnership.
