Overview
Even though this is a non-credit course, the eFolio assignment is considered to be a major component of the course requirements and will be evaluated. Non-completion of this assignment will result in a failing grade. Critiques by the instructors will be made periodically during the semester based upon agreed upon criteria and you will be given the opportunity to have others in the course to give you feedback on your website as well.
Evaluation Criteria
As stated in the Assignment description, the purpose of developing an eFolio is to encourage you to critically think about and verbalize your reasons as to why you selected your major and potential career choice. These will be summarized through the professional resume, the personal statement, a series of reflective statements, and the videotaped interview.
Although you will not receive a grade for this assignment, it is highly encouraged that you take the instructors' suggestions along with your peers recommendations to optimize your eFolio and use it as a tool in your educational development.
The following factors will be used in evaluating your eFolio:
- resume completeness and professional appearance
- clarity of ideas, cohesiveness, and style of the personal statement
- research, contemplation, and mature analysis of written reflective sections
- addition of final video interview
- eFolio design, layout, graphics, color, and appropriateness
Specific evaluation rubrics will be developed for each segment of the eFolio and will be given to you at midterm and at the end of the semester. Informal feedback from your peers is encouraged, if you so desire.
